Join us and move, create and discover. In this class, we will discuss the connection between yoga & art & how the 2 complement one another opening up a new space for creativity. Peer-reviewed research has
shown that integrating the two modalities can be a conduit for both healing and expression.
The class will include an opening discussion about the two modalities and how we can use intention to help guide us in class and our daily lives.
Our 45-minute Vinyasa flow will offer standing, balancing and seated postures. Modifications will be given including the use of props. The class will aim to provide focus, concentration while warming and stretching the body.
After asana, we will begin work on a mandala through the use of colored pencils and/or oil pastels. The mandala is a visual representation of our connection to ourselves and one another. Some direction will be given prior to beginning your art, but this is a time for you to create and free yourself of the thinking mind. The class will culminate with a time to share and view mandalas made during our practice.
