In this workshop for teachers and students, Caitlin invites you to consider some of imbalances in your asana practice and to rethink these approaches for optimal sustainability. We’ll look at some ways in which we may be over-stretching and under-strengthening certain parts of the hip, as well as bring attention to some of the hip muscles that are often overlooked. For example, in vinyasa yoga, we often stretch the hamstrings a great deal but overlook opportunities to strengthen the hamstrings. We’ll also consider ways to thoughtfully address the needs of the typical modern body. After some didactics and discussion, you’ll implement this knowledge in a full practice to embody what you’ve learned. This workshop is ideal for practitioners who value a strong practice that is sustainable over time, and teachers looking to sequence from a skillful and updated framework.
